Silent Auction Donations

Dear Symposium Attendee,

Each year the Florida Woodturning Symposium gives either a scholarship or tuition grant to 6 participants at the symposium. These awards allow the winners to attend either Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk School or Jimmy Clewes Woodturning for a week long class focused on the area they are most interested in with a world class instructor.

The volunteer committee that organizes the symposium strives to keep the cost of the symposium as economical as possible so the primary source of funding for our educational awards is derived from the funds generated by our raffle and auction. Therefore, to increase our ability to continue awarding these educational opportunities we respectfully ask each symposium participant to consider bringing at least one woodturning related item to be placed in our auction. Having quality items in our auction will not only enable us to continue awarding educational scholarships, it will also benefit every participant at the symposium by allowing them to add to their personal tool inventory.

Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Florida Woodturning Symposium Committee

Note: Due to our unique organizational structure, any item donated to the symposium will not qualify as a charitable donation by the donor.
