
Alan Leland
Alan's passionate interest in woodturning, has led to his involvement with the Woodturners Guild of North Carolina where he served for many years as vice president. He is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and the Furniture society. He has demonstrated his skills at State and National Symposiums including the Utah Woodturning symposium and for woodturning clubs in the United States and Canada. He has also studied and worked with internationally known woodturners and artists. His love of woodturning has led to his interest and passion for sharing his knowledge and skills through teaching. Alan teaches a fundamentals of woodturning class at the John C. Campbell folk school, in which he teaches the skills that will help to make turning an easier and more pleasant experience. He also teaches at the North Carolina State University Craft Center, Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts and in his Studio.
